Founded in 1997 and listed on KOSDAQ in 2001, Initech is a specialized information security and financial IT company operating two core business lines: security and financial IT.
The security business centers on public key infrastructure (PKI), database encryption, and single sign-on/enterprise access management (SSO/EAM) solutions, building on its early role in launching Korea's first integrated internet banking security service.
The financial IT business covers system integration (SI), IT staffing outsourcing (ITO), and outsourced data-center operations (ASP), with revenue tied to financial institutions' digital-channel upgrades and the expansion of mobile and untact transactions.
Its integrated authentication platform, INI-HuB, partners with numerous private and joint certification providers including Naver, Kakao, Toss, PASS, Payco, Samsung Pass, Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, and DreamSecurity, and has been deployed at financial and public institutions such as Kyobo Life Insurance.
The company previously supported Toss and Bank Salad in obtaining electronic-signature certification authority status under Korea's revised Electronic Signature Act.
In March 2025, the KT Group (30% via KT DS, 27% via H&C Network) sold its combined 57% stake for KRW 84.1 billion, ending its control, and the controlling shareholder has since changed repeatedly — from AI Solution Holdings to Enchem to SJ 1st Holdings — leaving the governance structure in flux.
The new management team established four subsidiaries in the second half of 2025 — K-Cleon, Ininext, Shield System, and Zenova — and signed memoranda of understanding with Ininext and Makinarocks on generative-AI security, and with Road System on a stablecoin authentication and payment platform, broadening its business scope.
Competitively, its SI/ITO offerings have historically overlapped with those of its former parent-linked affiliate KT DS, an overlap cited as one reason behind the KT Group's decision to divest.
