English version
Having overcome a full-year 2025 operating loss and returned to profitability in Q4 2025, YJ Link extended its recovery into Q1 2026, entering a structural growth phase underpinned by its full-line SMT supply strategy and expanding production footprint in Mexico, India, and Thailand.
YJ Link, founded in 2009 and listed on KOSDAQ in 2024, is a specialist in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) smart process equipment. Its four core product lines comprise PCB transport equipment (conveyors, loaders, unloaders, buffers), PCB tracking equipment (laser markers), SMT post-process equipment (routers, IFCT inspectors), and smart factory solutions (Smart Conveyor Systems, Reel Towers, Magazine Towers, AGVs/AMRs). The defining competitive advantage is a 'full-line' strategy enabling the company to supply over 70% of the equipment required for an entire SMT manufacturing line, including integrated software for remote process control and maintenance. In 2025, conveyors accounted for 32.4% of standalone revenue, loaders/unloaders 17.8%, laser marking 17.4%, and buffers 11.3%, with transport and post-process equipment collectively comprising over 80% of sales. More than 90% of revenue comes from direct exports, with Europe and the Americas each exceeding 30% of the mix. Key customers include Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, Foxconn, Continental, Bosch, ZF, Denso, and Hyundai Mobis—a blend of global EMS providers and automotive electronics manufacturers, with over 270 companies transacted in the past three years. Reference wins include supplying 15 of 20 SMT line machines (75%) in Tesla's EMS supply chain and providing equipment to SpaceX since 2010. Beyond its Korean headquarters and Vietnamese production subsidiary, a Mexican factory began operating in 2025 and an Indian plant in Bengaluru is under construction (targeted for 2027). A Thai subsidiary established in 2025 is pursuing PCB assembly finished goods production, extending the business beyond pure equipment sales; as of Q1 2026, the consolidated group includes nine subsidiaries.
In 2024, YJ Link posted consolidated revenue of KRW 48.5 billion with an operating loss of KRW 1.3 billion (OPM –2.6%); despite IPO-related one-off charges, net income remained marginally positive at KRW 390 million. In 2025, revenue fell 5.1% to KRW 46.1 billion, the operating loss widened to KRW 3.5 billion (OPM –7.5%), and the company swung to a net loss of KRW 3.1 billion—driven by compounded upfront costs from establishing production subsidiaries in Mexico and India and a tariff-induced pullback in customer capex. On a quarterly basis, the operating loss trough was reached in Q2 2025 at KRW –2.1 billion (revenue KRW 10.3 billion), after a KRW –1.3 billion loss in Q1, before improving markedly to KRW –680 million in Q3 (revenue KRW 10.5 billion) as orders recovered. Q4 2025 was transformative: revenue surged 69% quarter-on-quarter to KRW 17.7 billion, converting to an operating profit of KRW 554 million, while controlling-shareholder net income of KRW 2.0 billion materially exceeded operating profit, reflecting meaningful non-operating income contributions. Q1 2026 reinforced the recovery, with revenue jumping 94% year-on-year to KRW 14.7 billion and operating profit rising to KRW 1.1 billion; controlling-shareholder net income of KRW 2.6 billion again outpaced operating profit. Operating cash flow, however, deteriorated from KRW –1.0 billion in 2024 to KRW –4.0 billion in 2025, and the debt ratio rose from 48.0% to 65.8%, making financial health monitoring an ongoing priority.
The global SMT equipment market is projected to grow from approximately USD 5.7 billion in 2023 to USD 8.2 billion by 2028 at a 7.7% CAGR (Technavio), with EVs, autonomous driving, and AI servers serving as the primary demand catalysts. The global automotive electronics market is expected to expand roughly 72% from USD 250 billion in 2023 to USD 430 billion by 2030 (Global Information), and the SDV transition is dramatically increasing semiconductors and sensor modules per vehicle, raising precision requirements for PCB transport and SMT equipment. The semiconductor packaging market is forecast to grow from USD 44.3 billion in 2022 to USD 78.6 billion by 2028 at a 10.6% CAGR (Yole Intelligence), driven by demand from AI chips and EVs. On the supply-chain front, U.S. tariff policies and geopolitical risks are accelerating the diversification of manufacturing from China toward India and Mexico, directly generating new demand for locally installed SMT lines. Unlike global pick-and-place machine rivals such as Fuji, JUKI, Yamaha, and Panasonic, YJ Link occupies a full-line position spanning PCB transport, post-processing, and smart factory solutions, limiting direct competitive overlap. Few SMT equipment makers currently maintain production bases on multiple continents simultaneously—a distinction that is increasingly valuable as customers demand localized service and supply.

Management has guided for 2026 revenue of KRW 80 billion (+73.6% YoY; SMT segment KRW 75 billion, other KRW 5 billion) and a 12% operating margin. Q1 2026 revenue growing ~94% YoY is broadly consistent with this path, and April's monthly sales were reportedly tracking close to 70% of the entire Q2 2025 quarterly revenue figure (Hana Securities and Leading Investment & Securities, April 2026). On orders, YJ Link disclosed a KRW 4.14 billion SMT full-line supply contract in March 2026 with a domestic global Tier-1 automotive parts maker, and Foxconn has followed up its India plant order with an additional purchase for its U.S. facility—demonstrating that the multi-continent production footprint is already converting to incremental orders. Registration as an official supplier to Hyundai Mobis unlocks access to all of the automaker's global production sites, setting the stage for recurring orders and long-term customer lock-in. In Thailand, the newly established subsidiary is pursuing PCB processing and assembly business with a major Japanese electronics component maker; at full capacity across up to three lines, this could generate approximately KRW 20 billion in annual revenue at a ~10% operating margin. The KRW 25 billion CB resolved in April 2026 will be deployed into India, Thailand, and Mexico facilities; once the India plant is completed in 2027, YJ Link would be among the very few SMT equipment makers with a full multi-continent production footprint. Guidance delivery will require sustained order intake in the second half alongside continued cost structure improvement, with CB conversion timing also warranting close tracking.
With full-year 2025 in a loss cycle, a price-to-earnings multiple cannot be calculated; however, the return to quarterly profitability from Q4 2025 and continued earnings growth in Q1 2026 clearly establish a direction of recovery. Against the reported book value per share (BPS: KRW 2,736), the current price trades at a modest premium to net asset value—a level that appears to embed some recovery optimism and structural growth expectations. On dividends, the company paid nothing in the most recent fiscal year (DPS: KRW 0), placing cash yield below what investors might find among sector peers. The current price represents a significant pullback from the high formed shortly after the 2024 IPO, incorporating the market's reassessment during the period of earnings deterioration. Should the KRW 25 billion CB convert and dilute shares by roughly 12%, per-share book value and earnings metrics will face downward pressure—but if the investment successfully brings India and Thailand capacity online on schedule, it could underpin a medium-to-long-term growth premium. Ultimately, whether the current valuation level is justified will be tested by guidance execution over the course of 2026.
The shift from single-unit sales to full SMT line supply has expanded individual contract values into the multi-billion-won range and deepened customer dependency on YJ Link equipment, shortening repurchase cycles. Integrated software-based remote management and maintenance convert one-off sales into long-term partnerships, reducing revenue volatility. Repeat order patterns are already visible in a 75% share of Tesla's EMS supply chain and Foxconn's sequential India-then-U.S. purchases, with Hyundai Mobis supplier registration unlocking access to additional global facilities.
U.S. tariff policies and geopolitical risks are driving global manufacturers to relocate from China to India and Mexico, each relocation creating demand for locally installed SMT lines. Unlike most competitors based in Europe or Singapore with no local manufacturing, YJ Link already operates in Mexico and is building in India, enabling close on-site support and shorter delivery lead times. Upon completion of the India plant (targeted 2027), YJ Link would stand alone among SMT equipment makers in having production bases across all major manufacturing continents—a first-mover advantage that is difficult for rivals to replicate quickly.
The global automotive electronics market is expected to grow 72% from USD 250 billion in 2023 to USD 430 billion by 2030, with SDV and EV adoption rapidly increasing PCB content per vehicle. YJ Link entered the semiconductor back-end market in 2024 by securing an SMT line contract from ASE—the world's leading semiconductor packager—tapping into a segment forecast to grow at 10.6% annually through 2028 (Yole Intelligence). Having supplied SpaceX with equipment since 2010, the company is also positioned to benefit from secular growth in low-earth-orbit satellite communications demand.
The KRW 25 billion CB resolved in April 2026 would dilute shares by approximately 12% upon conversion, pressuring per-share book value and earnings metrics. Operating cash flow deteriorated from KRW –1.0 billion in 2024 to KRW –4.0 billion in 2025, and the debt ratio rose from 48.0% to 65.8%, reflecting a meaningful increase in external funding reliance. Should earnings fall short of guidance, additional capital raises would become necessary, potentially compounding shareholder dilution.
The immediate trigger of the 2025 earnings deterioration was a capex freeze by global customers in response to tariff concerns—a pattern that could easily recur if tariff escalation, interest rate pressures, or EV demand softening resurfaces. With revenue still significantly concentrated in a small number of flagship customers such as Tesla and SpaceX, any strategic pivot or in-house production expansion by those clients could directly affect order flow. As the transition to full-line orders is still in its early stages, earnings volatility is likely to remain elevated until the order pipeline is more broadly diversified.
Initial operations at factories in Mexico, India, and Thailand will add fixed costs for local workforce development, logistics, and localization—capacity utilization shortfalls relative to targets would translate directly into profitability drag. The India plant is targeted for 2027 but construction delays could push back its revenue contribution relative to front-loaded overhead costs. The Thai PCB assembly business differs fundamentally from equipment sales by requiring direct management of manufacturing risks—yield, inventory, and cost control—raising the operational complexity of the business model.
YJ Link successfully emerged from its post-IPO earnings slump by returning to profitability in Q4 2025, supported by its differentiated full-line SMT strategy and a premium customer base including Tesla, SpaceX, and Hyundai Mobis. Q1 2026 results—revenue of KRW 14.7 billion (+94% YoY) and operating profit of KRW 1.1 billion—are broadly consistent with the company's full-year guidance of KRW 80 billion in revenue and a 12% operating margin. Structural tailwinds—accelerating manufacturing relocation to India and Mexico due to geopolitical risks and rapidly rising per-vehicle electronics content from the SDV and EV transition—are likely to remain favorable to YJ Link's long-term positioning. However, the KRW 25 billion CB (~12% dilution), persistently negative operating cash flow, and a rising debt ratio represent financial risk factors directly tied to guidance delivery. Customer CAPEX cycle volatility, tariff policy shifts, and overseas plant start-up burdens also have the potential to affect near-term earnings, necessitating a balanced perspective. Investors should treat the Q2 2026 earnings release, the onset of CB conversion activity, and the ramp-up status of the India and Thailand facilities as the most critical monitoring checkpoints going forward.
